With over 14 years of experience, Dr. Subhaprakash Sanyal is a highly skilled Consultant Haematologist at S L Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various haematological disorders, including haematological malignancies such as acute and chronic leukaemias, myeloma, and lymphomas. Dr. Sanyal is proficient in administering chemotherapy and managing the complications that arise from high-intensity chemotherapy treatments. He has considerable expertise in managing hemoglobinopathies, including thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia, with a focus on prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling. Dr. Sanyal is also highly experienced in diagnosing and treating bone marrow failure syndromes. His expertise extends to the management of liver and kidney transplants, particularly in pre-surgical assessments and post-transplant bleeding and coagulation issues. Additionally, he has a keen interest in diagnosing and managing venous thrombosis. Dr. Sanyal's advanced training includes a prestigious fellowship at Vancouver General Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver, Canada, where he gained extensive experience in all types of Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplants. These include autologous, related, and unrelated allogenic transplants, as well as umbilical cord transplants for patients with leukaemia, myeloma, lymphoma, and bone marrow failure syndromes such as aplastic anemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. During this time, he honed his skills in pre-transplant conditioning regimens and post-transplant immunosuppressive management. He also holds a Fellowship in Lymphoma from the BC Cancer Agency, where he focused on the chemotherapeutic management of both indolent and aggressive lymphomas. Dr. Sanyal is deeply committed to unraveling the complexities of blood-related disorders. He collaborates closely with his surgical and medical colleagues to diagnose and manage cases of anemia, thrombocytopenia (platelet deficiency), and pancytopenia (deficiency of all three blood cell types).
